There are lots of great things happening in March—from Women’s History Month to St. Patrick’s Day. To celebrate, we’re showing you some of our favorite places around the world for women to travel on their own, including great cities and relaxation destinations as well as how to have an amazing weekend in Dublin, Ireland. And with spring still a few weeks away, we’re still dreaming of warm-weather trips. If you’re looking for inspiration, our F1S insider Marisa tells us why Aruba is a great place for young families.
Erika Reategui and Fernando Gonzalez
We’re excited to welcome three more seasoned travel specialists to our growing West Coast team. Meet Leslie Fineman, Lyndsey Green, and Michelle Gross. Each advisor credits a lucky coincidence for ending up in a profession they absolutely love.
Leisure Specialist – San Francisco
As a lifelong vagabond, Leslie says travel was always in her blood. On a backpacking trip across Southeast Asia at 26, she met a guide from tour operator Butterfield & Robinson, and the rest was history. She spent the next five years at the company, planning and guiding trips in Southeast Asia and Latin America. In 2007, she moved to San Francisco to run the Asia team at Geographic Expeditions. After 10 adventurous years working for tour operators, she made the leap to the travel agent side and has happily been here ever since.
My next stop this year is…South Africa, one of my favorite destinations for honeymooners. I’m excited to get back there to explore the hottest new luxury hotels and lodges.
I love travel because…it makes me feel connected to the world in a deep and meaningful way. I’m passionate about immersing myself in the fascinating cultures that exist around this world.
Entertainment, Corporate, and Leisure Specialist – Los Angeles
Lyndsey got her start in travel at 17, when she joined a Beverly Hills travel agency starting in the accounting department. For the next two years, she moved around the office learning the ins and outs of the business. Her next stop was working with the William Morris Agency, where she began specializing in artists and bands on tour, as well as corporate travel. Her entertainment-focused clientele took her to New York in 2010, but as a California girl at heart, she returned to Beverly Hills in 2013. She joined First in Service in March.
My next stop this year…Napa Valley, where my clients Maroon 5 are headlining the Bottle Rock Festival.
I love travel because…What’s not to love? Seeing the world, meeting new people, eating new food, new life experiences and making memories. There’s nothing better in life then being able to travel!
Leisure, Entertainment, and Corporate Specialist – Los Angeles
Michelle moved to Los Angeles from Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2005, and, like most immigrants, needed a job. Without much thought, she randomly applied for a travel consultant opening at a large agency. To this day, she is grateful for that choice. A few weeks in, she realized she had found her passion and made it her profession. She eventually moved on to a luxury agency where she established her clientele in VIP, celebrity, and entertainment travel. She joined F1S as a consultant five months ago.
My next stop this year is…the island of Holbox in Mexico and Turks and Caicos, and I could not be more excited!
I love travel because…of its infinite benefits. It takes people out of their usual comfort zone; it’s a way to challenge yourself, learn, think outside the box, appreciate life, and be exposed to the wonders of different cultures.
